Meet Our Team

Andre Johson, LCSW

Andre Johson, LCSW

I have been a social worker for approximately thirty-three years. And as long as I can remember,
I have wanted to assist people in their quest for justice. As a therapist, I now get the opportunity to help people understand that some emotional and social concerns they experience may stem from systems that do not honor their culture, personhood, or humanity. With this in mind, I will be working with people to help them understand the realities of our world. Furthermore, I will help them consider how those realities impact their lives daily. Also, I want to help them in practical ways to access resources that may help them be all they are meant to be despite perceived or actual barriers.
I am interested in working with individuals. Whether people have anxiety or feelings of loneliness, it is not who they are but are conditions they encounter. Everyone can recover and be restored. I will listen to the client’s stories to help them determine what they meant in the past, what they mean today, and what they might mean in the future, if necessary. Finally, all issues matter.

Role: Therapist
Education: Master of Social Work (The University of Chicago, School of Social Service Administration)
Concentration: Clinical Social Work
Areas of Focus: Spiritual Care, Social Justice Concerns: Oppression-Sensitive Pastoral Caregiving and Counseling
Treatment Approach: Lament Therapy, Narrative Consultation Therapy
